Ukraine’s Zelenskyy Shows Us How Terrible Our Leaders Are

“I don’t need a ride, I need ammunition.” — Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine.

With those few words, Zelenskyy became a global hero. He has to know Ukraine can hold out against a much superior Russian military for only so long. It appears he’s chosen to die for his country instead of taking a plane ride somewhere safe like so many other so-called leaders in similar situations.

My first thought upon hearing his words were, “That guy owns the biggest set of balls on this planet.” My second thought, “Is there a single government official in the United States, at any level — federal, state, or city — that would do the same?”

No. I don’t think there is. You might exert a fair amount of mental effort coming up with a name or two, but I’m guessing you’d spend most of your time thinking about reasons to defend your leaders based upon your party membership. We always defend our own and attack the other side, regardless of whether they’re right or wrong, invertebrate or not.

Would Donald Trump do anything like this? No. It should be clear to everyone on this planet that Donald Trump cares only about himself. He is a person so shallow, so self-absorbed, and so gutless he can’t admit defeat in an election. Imagine how he’d do in a war at his front door. He’d not only not admit one was happening, but invite the enemy in as he proclaimed them best buddies and fly off to whatever island he owns as far away from said conflict as possible.

Joe Biden? Forget that he’s old and needs a nap at every moment. Would Joe Biden have ever done anything like this? No. It’s not that he never served in the military — neither did Zelenskyy — Biden showed his gutlessness during conflict in his quick exit from Afghanistan, leaving allies behind to a fate everyone understood, but few cared enough to do anything about, including the leader of the free world, Joe Biden.

Gavin Newsom, Governor of Californa? No. Newsom showed who he was when he ordered lockdowns and mask mandates, then couldn’t be bothered to follow his own rules. Recall his dinner at the French Laundry, where lobbyists were present, but there were no masks. Newsom isn’t the only one, here’s a web page
